Be green
Run Melbourne, presented by The Age is committed to reducing its impact on the environment by implementing some sustainable, green innovations and encouraging participants to help us make a difference.
In the lead up to the event, we are minimising paper, by driving people to register online rather than manually and we are significantly reducing our mail outs. We hope that you will help us save paper by entering Run Melbourne, presented by The Age online.
We recommend that participants cycle or walk to the event if they live locally and we will be providing a bike compound to allow them to lock up their bikes while they run. Carpooling is another option and an easy way for you to help us reduce our carbon footprint, whilst making new friends. Check out sites such as www.thecarpool.com.au.
The race bibs that participants will receive are recyclable, as are the cups at the water stations dotted around the course. We ask that runners and walkers throw these recyclable cups in the recycle bins provided, not on the ground. Better yet, run with your own reusable drink bottle.
Thank you in advance for helping us make Run Melbourne, presented by The Age a more environmentally friendly event.
